Start Your Online Application Now Date of Availability: ASAP Date Closing: Open Until Filled Description: Special Education Paraeducator - District Wide Job Summary: Provide supervision to students in special education. Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a special education teacher. Perform support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of special needs students and support with student personal care needs. Work individually or in small groups. Collaborate with other teaching staff and paraprofessionals for the benefit of all students. Help students develop life skills. Qualifications: This is a 7 hour (6.5 hours paid) per day position. Paraprofessionals must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, which entails lifting, bending, and twisting in various settings. Be a motivated, self-starter with the ability to handle situations with a calm demeanor. Must possess high level of compassion for students with developmental disabilities. Flexibility and a cooperative nature are required. Highly qualified (A High School diploma plus 60 college credits, an associate degree, or a passing score on a Paraeducator assessment).
