PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Coach (30%)
* Provide individual teacher support for new teachers and as assigned by administration
* Facilitate the analysis of student learning data with PLCs, administration and BARR.
* Foster professional conversations via weekly PLCs and BARR teams meetings
* Serve as the building gradebook liaison and support
* Facilitate FastBridge testing for content specific area
Content Specific Interventionist (70%)
* Serve as an academic interventionist and coach for students identified as needing extra support (tier 2)
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, counselors, and other school staff to ascertain students' academic needs and create an academic remediation plan and provide targeted interventions toward completion of plan
* Collaborate with students regularly to check in on progress in classes, keeping students accountable for achieving their academics, attendance, and behavioral goals
* Co-create detailed, achievable goals and plans with each participant and regularly monitor progress.
* Supervises the Content Resource Center, creating an inclusive, welcoming environment conducive to guided study, collaborative learning, and 1:1 support
* Credit completion as needed
* Foster student engagement with programs that cultivate a sense of belonging such as peer tutoring, mentoring programs, learning communities, student organizations and other co-curricular programs and activities.
* Provide research-based strategies to give students the necessary skills and knowledge to help them advocate effectively with teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to ensure student goals are met
* Serve as the point of contact for school administration in developing plans to address barriers to full achievement of academic goals
* Maintain teaming around student success with teaching staff on student progress and concerns
* Integrate academic success best practices and effective coaching techniques to provide proactive student conversations that acknowledge the unique needs of AHS students.
* Collaborate with BARR Coordinators and Community Connect faculty to ensure a smooth transition from Grade 9 to Grade 10
QUALIFICATIONS
* Current Minnesota teaching license in a core area (English, Math, Science, Social Studies); at least five years of successful teaching experience; Master's degree and additional certification/coursework in reading or math preferred.
* Advanced preparation/training for implementing high-functioning PLCs and BARR.
* Experience interpreting and using student assessment data for instructional planning.
* Knowledge and experience with a standards-based delivery model.
* Willingness to participate in extensive training throughout the school year.
* Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of the culturally responsive teacher.
* Demonstrated success planning and implementing large-scale professional development sessions.
* Demonstrated commitment to help support teams to be successful.
