Job Duties and Responsibilities: *Oversee the entire Orono Fall Dance Team program. 1. Communication * Must possess excellent communication skills and practice frequent communication with administration, parents, dancers and other coaching staff. 2. Coaching * Must have experience and knowledge pertaining to dance. * Experience with students in a teaching and/or coaching capacity. * Assist student-athletes in reaching their goals by teaching, observing and providing constructive feedback. * Must have the ability to differentiate lessons based on needs and abilities. 3. Mentoring * Must be the ultimate role model for the team at all times (in and out of practices and performances/events) by demonstrating important traits such as: a positive attitude, teamwork, dedication, organization and responsibility. 4. Scheduling * Plan and coordinating all dance team meetings, practices and performances/events. * Must work with Community Education to book the necessary facilities for practices. 5. Practices * Must be prepared with daily practice plans that help to improve overall dance technique, strength, flexibility and unity in team routine(s). * Practice plans should be engaging for all students at all levels and should include elements of team building. 6. Performances/Events * Must direct and be the primary contact for the team at all performances/events. * Must prepare and coordinate uniforms, music and routine(s) in preparation for performances/events. 7.
