Start Your Online Application Now Date Closing: 04/10/2026 Office Assistant Position Title: Office Assistant (10 month) Department: Lincoln Center Elementary FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Wage Range: $22.60 to $25.04 Reports to: Building Principal General Summary: The Office Assistant provides front office clerical and administrative support to ensure smooth daily school operations. The role also serves as a key point of contact for students, families, staff, and visitors by providing customer service, answering questions, directing individuals to appropriate resources, and supporting communication between the school and home. Job Duties: Perform general clerical and reception duties including phones, typing, copying, filing, and record maintenance. Serve as the primary point of contact by greeting, screening, signing in visitors, directing individuals to appropriate locations, and ensuring compliance with building security procedures. Provide day-to-day support to school staff by responding to requests for supplies, information, and basic office/technology assistance. Assist parents and guardians with school-related questions including schedules, permission slips, and general building information. Support volunteer coordination by assisting with background check submission and approval tracking. Manage student attendance operations including receiving calls, entering attendance in Campus, tracking tardies, and preparing report card attendance documentation. Create, update, and transfer cumulative student files, including end-of-year file transfers to secondary school. Support schoolwide testing operations by preparing materials, maintaining confidentiality documentation, and distributing/collecting materials. Assist with school events and activities (conferences, field trips, registration events, etc.) including preparation, organization, and logistical support. Support student supervision and building safety by assisting with drills, evacuations, lockdown procedures, student behavior support tracking, contacting guardians, coordinating with SRO, and entering discipline referrals into SWIS. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. One to three years previous experience in a clerical position, preferably in a school setting. Ability to effectively perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, copying, maintaining routine records, and answering the phone. Proficient computer skills including use of Word, Excel, Outlook and databases. Ability to manage time well and complete tasks in a timeline manner Demonstrated excellent customer service skills Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff, parents, students and community members Proven ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, parents, community members and staff Ability to work independently with little work direction Ability to maintain confidentiality, understand and follow data privacy rules and regulations related to students and staff. Demonstrated prompt, regular and reliable attendance Physical Requirements: Work is performed under normal office conditions and there are minimal environmental risks or disagreeable conditions associated with the work. The typical noise level is considered to be moderate Work can be generally characterized as: Sedentary Work : Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
