We are looking for University Supervisors for Fall 2026 in two licensure areas, Special Education and Social Studies and Science.
Please apply with other licensure areas and we will review applications on an on-going basis each semester. The supervising coordinator will review the applicant pool and reach out with job offers as needed.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
Attend Supervisor Training before semester begins.
Complete 3 hour training with evaluation rubrics.
Complete 2-hour online training in working with Adult Learners.
Attend supervisor meetings three times per semester. * Hold triad meetings with each candidate and cooperating teacher before the placement begins, midway through the placement, and at the conclusion of the placement.
Host bi-weekly 90-minute "cohort" meetings for your group of candidates.
Read, score, and respond to weekly digital reflective journals from candidates.
Read, score, and respond to weekly Evidence Portfolio entries from candidates.
Maintain flexibility in scheduling based on needs of cooperating teachers and teacher candidates.
Travel to candidates'' schools (or, in the case of distant placements, use digital technology) to observe, coach, and confer with teacher candidates and cooperating teachers.
Conduct four full-length observations during the 12 week student teaching placement.
Provide constructive written and oral feedback for the development of effective teaching skills aligned with research-based practices.
Evaluate the candidates'' planning, instruction, assessment, classroom management, and professionalism.
Maintain at least bi-weekly communication with cooperating teachers and weekly communication with teacher candidates.
Keep the Student Teaching Director informed about any candidate who is not on track to be licensed or whose conduct or performance raises concerns.
Complete mid- and end-of-placement evaluations for each candidate.
Complete a Contract for Improvement for any candidate who is not on track to be licensed or at the request of the cooperating.
Attend Student Teaching celebration at close of term.
Write a letter of recommendation for each candidate who passes student teaching.
Keep accurate records of cohort attendance, journal scores, and Evidence Portfolio scores.
Maintain accurate records for school visit schedules and mileage.
Serve as a representative and liaison between K-12 schools and Hamline University.
Check Hamline email daily.
Keep up-to-date in the licensure area with annual professional development of your choosing.

Required Qualifications
A master''s degree in a field related to the area of supervision
At least 3 years verifiable teaching experience in a public school setting within the area of licensure
A teaching license current or expired in the area of supervision or expertise in this area demonstrated through another approved means
An ability to access and use digital Technologies required for HSEL programs such as but not limited to Google Meets Google Apps for Education ( Docs, Forms, Slides) and the Canvas learning management system
An ability to secure and maintain a valid current driver''s license and automobile (unless only doing virtual supervision)
An ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
