The DCD Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director of the Paul Bunyan Education Cooperative. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions include but are not limited to: Support Member Districts in the following areas: * Provide Consultation, Collaboration, and Coaching to: * Teachers (Special Education and General Education) * Administration * Service Providers * Families * Programming * Knowledge of evidence based practices * Assist team with placement determination * Development and Training of best practices within classrooms * Problem Solving * Student Placement * Programming * Provide professional learning * Handle with Care Trainer * Program Development * Program Implementation * Due Process * Other duties as assigned or as special projects arise Attend the following meetings: * Monthly meetings with Executive Director and PBEC Leadership Team * Weekly/Monthly Child Study Meetings at assigned districts * New Teacher Trainings * Due Process Paperwork Evenings * Monthly DCD Community of Practice Meetings * Leadership staffing and trainings as assigned * Other meetings as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Knowledgeable in child find, due process procedures, assessment, program development, evidence based practices, and problem solving. * Interpersonal skills to work with families, staff, and outside agencies * Understanding of confidentiality rules and regulations * Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Google, and other computer applications BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: * Current Minnesota Teacher License in Special Education, DCD licensure preferred * Experience teaching in special education, specifically DCD * Leadership experience preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: * Frequently walk * Talk and listen * Handle with Care trainer * Sit and stand for extended periods of time * Ability to lift and carry 25lbs * Required to drive a motor vehicle (insurance required) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
