POSITION SUMMARY: Provides leadership and assists member districts in implementing special education services for students birth to age 21; in conformance to District, State and Federal objectives; serves as a resource to SWWC and school personnel; maintains adequate staffing to ensure objectives of programs and services are achieved within budget. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Assists member school districts in complying with District, State and Federal rules/regulations pertaining to students with disabilities. Provides direct supervision and management of all staff employed by the SWWC at the service area level and assists districts in conducting performance reviews on district staff. Oversees special education and third party pay as requested by member districts. Conducts planning meetings and participates in local, state, and regional special education meetings as necessary. Interprets and completes, in a timely manner, all special education applications and forms for each member school in the service area and assists in developing and managing all special education budgets in the service area. Oversees staff development for service area personnel and district personnel. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: Master&#8217;s Degree with Minnesota Licensure as Director of Special Education from Department of Education is required. SALARY: 235-day contract for 2024-2025 school year, salary dependent upon education, qualifications, and experience; excellent benefits. Position to begin July 1, 2024.
