The engineering and innovation Teacher provides instruction and direction for computer sciences, CAD, coding, robotics, and drone classes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Teaching * Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; models a consistent, daily walk with Jesus Christ in attitude, speech, and actions. * Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff, and administration. * Motivates students to accept God's gift of salvation and grow in their faith. * In an eight-period schedule, teaches six class periods (given two prep periods) plus advisory. * Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements/standards of state and school and submits weekly to the principal. * Review and align curriculum with the school's overall mission. * Lectures demonstrate and use audiovisual technology teaching aids to present subject matter to the class. * Prepares, administers, and corrects tests and records results. * Assigns lessons and homework, corrects papers, and hears oral presentations. * Teaches rules of conduct * Maintains order in classroom and in auxiliary spaces on campus as well as off-site school-sponsored activities. * Counsels students when academic and/or behavioral problems arise. * Discusses students' academic and behavioral attitudes and achievements with parents. * Keeps attendance and grade records as required by the school. * Completes non-standard information requests for ISP Students (upper school only). * Coordinates class field trips. Facility Management * Supervise preparation, use, daily maintenance, and security of engineering and innovation (EI) facilities, equipment, components, and supplies. * Develop and supervise safety and security protocols and general use policies of EI facility, equipment, components and supplies. * Evaluate and supervise equipment and component maintenance and repairs. * Evaluate needs and make recommendations on the acquisition of new equipment and components. * Coordinate major facility maintenance with the cooperation of the physical plant manager. * Maintain inventory of equipment, components, and supplies. * Order replacement components and supplies as necessary. Budget * Work with upper school administration to establish an annual budget. Public Relations * Participate in events that bring recognition to MCA and EI Miscellaneous Duties * Responsible for coordinating extra-curricular activities, FLL, FTC, FRC, Robotics and Engineering Club, Inventors Club, etc. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has supervisory responsibilities over students, student interns, extra-curricular coaches, and volunteers.
