Position Overview
We seek a general music teacher in lower school for the 2024-25 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing joyful, creative lessons for young children that are grounded in the Orff Schulwerk and Kodaly approaches to teaching and learning. Children in this program will sing, move, play, and create in every lesson. It is expected that such musical learning can culminate in both informal and formal performances throughout the school year.
Experience in developing cross-curricular units of study is also a plus. A bachelor’s degree in music education is required along with Orff Schulwerk Level I training. Level II training and a minimum of two years of teaching experience are preferred.
Responsible for organizing, implementing, and providing an educational program where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological growth.

Planning and Instruction
Demonstrates knowledge of and proficiency with subject matter
Designs and implements effective instruction to engage student learning
Plans and delivers instruction for a variety of learners
Develops lessons that consider multiple perspectives
Motivates students to engage in the learning process

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience with using technology in teaching and learning
Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience preferred
Training in the Orff Schulwerk and Kodály approach to music instruction preferred
Leading a children's choir preferred
