This position is available due to a recent resignation and will be a continual need in the future. Fairmont Area School District is located in Fairmont, Minnesota on I-90. &#8220;The City of Lakes&#8221; has a population of roughly 12,000 and attracts many professionals for manufacturing, service, and agriculture-related careers. Fairmont citizens take great pride in its public school and have repeatedly supported the district and the staff. This partnership makes living and working in the community a special setting where individual efforts can create impactful and sustainable change. Fairmont Area Schools serves about 1,700 students preK-12th grade from Fairmont and the surrounding area. Many families choose to open-enroll in Fairmont due to our committed staff, robust programming, and quality facilities. Graduating classes are roughly 140 students per year and classroom sizes are in the twenties. The professionals who work at Fairmont Area Schools are committed to researching, implementing, and refining research-based best practices for the betterment of the student experience. Fairmont Area Schools has a competitive compensation package and supports which include but are not limited to.... * Starting salary no less than $49,703, plus Q-comp payments * Teacher Mentorship Programming * Professional Development on cornerstones of the district * Health, Life, Dental, and Vision Insurance and a Retirement Package * Coaching and Volunteer Opportunities * District contribution to 403b plan beginning in year 2 The Dean of Students will work closely with the administrative team and will oversee the Assistant to the Dean to provide consistent and equitable follow-up to student concerns. The Dean will be tasked with the following: * Track and organize student Behavioral data * Communicate with students, guardians, and staff * Work collaboratively with social workers, EL staff, SPED staff, and Administration to develop intervention lessons based on behavioral data and building needs * Lead small group lessons to address students with chronic concerns (disruptions, attendance&#8230;) * Investigate and make recommendations to principals on major infractions * Consult and review with the Student Support Para Professional actions taken for minor infractions * Conduct restorative conversations with students and staff * Visit classrooms to provide classroom management coaching * Coordinate readmittance meeting data and messaging with all involved * Implement non-exclusionary disciplinary practices and proactive programming * Support the development and implementation of MTSS * Collaborate with the Student Support PLC Fairmont Area School Student Support Team takes an innovative and individualized approach focused on helping students develop social skills, understanding social norms, and gaining a perspective on their influence on others.
