East Grand Forks School District is seeking applicants for a Special Education Instructor.
East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 8,500 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district’s K-12 enrollment is approximately 1900 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have or be eligible to obtain a MN teaching license qualified to teach special education.
Preference may be given to applicants licensed in multiple areas including SLD, DCD, EBD, LD, ASD or a combination of these licenses.
Reporting Relationship:
The Special Education Instructor reports directly to the Buildilng Principal
Basic Function of the Position:
The Special Education Instructor will provide instruction to students with identified special education needs and strategically support the general education staff.
Job Description:
Develop lesson plans, conduct classroom instruction and teaching social skills
Implementation of Individualized Education Plans.
Communicating student progress with parents/guardians and reporting student performance for local and state records.
Perfrom assessments for purposes of determining special education eligibility
Responsible for good data collection expertise and the ability to monitor student progress
Work with and supervise paraprofessionals
