WHAT YOU&#8217;LL LIKE ABOUT US: * Comprehensive and affordable benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D and Long-Term Disability Coverage * Paid time off and paid holidays * 403(b) Plan & matching * HRA * Salary range: $110,000 - $125,000 depending on qualifications ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential functions of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties: 1. Work with the Executive Director of Business Services in supervision of all School District budget preparation. Coordinate and manage the budget development process and oversee the appropriate procedures in budget development, preparation and control. Manage and coordinate the preparation of all District budget booklets. 2. Conduct budgetary scenario development, analysis, prepare and develop management reports as needed in an appropriate format as required by administration, Finance Committee and School Board. Develop, review and recommend policy, methods and procedures relating to the efficient and effective accounting of School District funds. 3. Establish and maintain internal controls over financial reporting, and administer and update a financial system which will accurately reflect the financial operations of the School District. 4. Administer School District accounting functions consistent with established GASB and UFARS guidelines. 5. Maintain and operate the Financial system used by ISD #194 6. Coordinate general accounting function in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting System (UFARS). 7. Coordinate the annual School District Financial audit, as well as plan and manage the completion of all audit workpapers in preparation of Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) completed in accordance with UFARS and GAAP. 8. Project and maintain adequate records of School District cash flow and make recommendations for investments or borrowing with the degree of security prescribed by statute. 9. Determine and assign proper classification and reporting of all financial transactions in accordance with UFARS and GAAP. 10. Oversee severance/retirement payments and insures they are made in accordance with contract language. 11. Perform all long-term debt management activities. 12. Monitor legal compliance in the area of school finance and IRS statutes. 13. Ensures that financial internal controls and policies and procedures are adhered to district-wide. 14. Manage the financial requirements in the preparation of local, state and federal applications and reporting. 15. Assist in organizing and supervision of finance staff for year-end close out and annual external audit. 16. Assist in organizing and supervising of finance staff for annual external audit. 17. Work with external auditors and actuaries. 18. Supervises Business Office and finance staff. 19. Supervise and provides support to Business Office staff regarding department procedures and program requirements for the purpose of ensuring efficient processing in compliance within district policy and established regulatory guidelines. 20. Attends staff development opportunities offered through MDE, MASBO, ASBO, and various financial firms. 21. Serves on District Finance Advisory Committee and also Sourcewell Finance Advisory Board. 22. Coordinates the retention and destruction of Business Office records. 23. Ability to make effective presentations to the Board of Education and District Administration. 24. Ability to identify areas of efficiency and process improvements to help accomplish the goals of the department and district. 25. Other duties as assigned by Executive Director of Business Services. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (Specific training or job experience required before appointment): 1. Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. 2. Master&#8217;s degree in business or related field preferred. 3. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred. 4. Five to seven years of finance experience, including supervision, training and motivation of personnel is required. School finance experience preferred. 5. Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills. 6. Efficient in Google Docs and Microsoft office products. 7. Ability to perform multiple, highly complex, technical tasks with minimal supervision and support. 8. Ability to use a computer and other related technology to communicate, collaborate, conduct research and problem solve.
