  • Designing and supervising all committee structures and processes related to the Minnesota Academic Standards, including the District Parent Advisory Council.
  • Developing and distributing communication tools and documents related to the Minnesota Academic Standards.
 
Statement of duty/responsibility: Lead and manage implementation and continuous improvement of district-wide Title 1 and Talent Development, Academic Enrichment, and Gifted Support (TAG) programs by:
  • Leading and facilitating the Title I and TAG budget planning, allocation, and management processes in collaboration with the K-12 Operations Coordinators.
  • Leading collaborative work to develop, monitor and implement the Title I plan (including leadership and support of the budget and programming.
  • Collaborating with DLTL leaders on integrated budget processes to ensure comprehensive support of department key essential services.
  • Monitoring, supporting, and evaluating systems and procedures used to process and track goods purchased with grant and categorical funds to meet auditing and accountability requirements.
  • Producing internal reports as requested in relation to individual grants and categorical funding sources.
  • Ensuring inclusion through an equity lens in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and professional development by collaborating with others in the learning and achievement department.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement of Title I and TAG programs.

Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned by:

Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction or Educational Administration. Education Specialist Degree preferred. 
  • Knowledge and training in curriculum, instruction, assessment, staff development, and the Minnesota Academic Standards.
  • Three years of experience serving in district or building leadership position(s). 
  • Five years of supervisory experience.
  • Pre-K-12 literacy experience.
  • Must hold a Minnesota Principal or Administrative License.
  • Prior administrator/principal experience and/or prior experience in staff development/curriculum & instruction is preferred.

Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge:
  • Knowledge and understanding of mission statement, goals, and philosophy as it impacts area of responsibility and the characteristics of an effective and equitable system-wide program.
  • Knowledge of programmatic improvement process including research, development, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of laws, state mandates, regulations and procedures related to areas of responsibility.
  • Understanding of culturally responsive administrative and teaching practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of budgeting and revenue sources and ability to recommend budgets based on system needs.
  • Ability to collect, organize and report data required by the Minnesota Department of Education.
  • Considerable knowledge of racial equity, culturally relevant pedagogy, and racial equity transformation.
