The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the social-emotional well-being of students in grades 2-4 and collaborate with the building's student support team. Responsibilities: 1. Individual and Group Counseling: Provide counseling services to students on an individual and group basis, addressing various social and emotional needs. 2. Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises and emergencies, providing immediate support and collaborating with school staff, parents, and external agencies when necessary. 3. Collaboration with Teachers and Staff: Work closely with teachers and other school staff to identify and address behavioral and social concerns affecting students' academic performance. 4. Assessment and Intervention: Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Develop and implement appropriate intervention strategies. 5. Parental Involvement: Collaborate with parents and guardians to address concerns, provide resources, and promote a positive home-school connection. 6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, assessments, and interventions. Generate reports as needed for school administration and relevant stakeholders. 7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the school's multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, counselors, teachers, and special education staff, to create a supportive and inclusive environment. Qualifications: 1. Master's degree in Social Work or related field. 2. Licensed School Social Worker in the state of Minnesota. 3. Previous experience working in an educational setting, preferably elementary grades. 4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 5. Ability to adapt to the existing school culture and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. 6. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to school social work.
