The Recruiter assists in assuring program goals are met and practices comply with Migrant Education Program Performance Standards and other program components. Hiring is dependent on enrollment. Recruitment will happen primarily through direct contact with families. But underspecial circumstances recruitment may happen through distance/virtual meetings with families. Position Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two-year degree preferred. Must be proficient in Spanish. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students and families. Perform duties within a tight daily schedule and with an awareness of district requirements and Board of Education policies. Consistent and reliable attendance. New recruiters must be able to attend trainings. Language Skills: Spanish required. Read, write, and comprehend, and interpret verbal and written information, including instructions, correspondences, and memos in English and Spanish. Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents, and or staff in English and Spanish. Other Skills & Abilities: Prior experience in migrant population &#8220;outreach work&#8221; with an established migrant service agency is prefered. Familiarilty with community resources is benefiical. Should be able to provide a variety of suggestions in working with families and students. Maintain flexibility in day to day dealing with staff, students, and parents. Schedule: * Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM [Recruiting begins as early as May 2024] * Flexible based upon family arrivals. Some late afternoon/early evening appointments may be needed. Will need to work two evenings for family outreach. * Temporary position.
