We are an educational community that supports and develops one another in a lifelong journey of knowing Jesus.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
The St. Cloud Christian School Band Teacher will direct and manage the overall program of instrumental music. They will integrate Biblical principles and perspectives throughout all curriculums from a Biblical worldview.
* Teach 5th Grade beginning band lessons, Middle School and High School Bands, Jazz Band
* Recruit students yearly for the band program
* Designs and presents individual lesson plans from beginning to advanced band as well as developing musical literacy using a variety of teaching techniques.
* Prepares materials for lessons, assignments, and performances
* Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars.
* Prepares students for MSHSL Competitions (Solo, Ensemble, and Large Group)
* Produces concerts demonstrating what students have learned through the program.
* Must also have a willingness and ability to assist in total school programs and extracurricular activities.
Contract:
* Full Time or Part Time
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree with Music Education Major or Minor from an accredited college or university preferred
Performance Standards:
- Job Knowledge: The ability to understand concepts and perform tasks and specialties outlined
within the job role.
- Work Quality: The ability to perform tasks to approved SCCS standards in a timely manner
while displaying integrity. Flexibility is a key to working this position.
- Punctuality and Time Management: The ability to consistently arrive in a method previously
agreed upon and exercise conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific
activities, while meeting deadlines with SCCS resources.
- Initiative: The ability to take appropriate action and follow through with a plan or task without
prompting.
- Communication Skills: The ability to effectively and efficiently translate concepts and ideas.
- Professional Integrity: The ability to display SCCS core values.
