Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Technology Director, the Technology Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support, training, and assistance to end users of the district network and technology systems. This position is a 10 month work year and is scheduled to work August - June. Essential duties outlined below are intended as &#8220;representative&#8221; examples of the level, nature and decision making expected of positions assigned to this classification. The duties below are not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all duties and tasks performed by the employees assigned to this classification. A classification description, unlike job description or position description, is designed to capture the general expectations, complexity level, and nature of work of any position that may be allocated to this classification. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Provides technical support to staff and students within the district. * Provide timely resolution to help desk tickets. * Assist in the management, setup, and maintenance of software, apps, and electronic devices. * Maintains the District&#8217;s technology equipment inventory. * Provides service and warranty information and facilitates repairs as needed. * Provides training and support for the utilization of software and devices. * Provide support and help manage state online testing. * Support the district website. Duties include posting information to the website and training staff as needed. * Assist students and staff with Chromebook issues and repairs. * Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required. Minimum Qualifications: Requires a minimum of a High School Diploma, knowledge and use of computer systems, equipment and information technology; and/or evidence of equivalent education and experience necessary to perform the requirements of the work. Essential Knowledge And Specialized Subject Knowledge Required To Perform The Essential Functions Of The Job: * Knowledge of computer operating systems. * Knowledge of hardware on multiple operating platforms and devices. * Fundamentals of computer networking and connectivity. * Knowledge of hardware components, their operations and functions, and procedures for troubleshooting problems and conflicts. * Knowledge of district standardized applications (i.e. email, Google Docs, Microsoft Office) and software including office productivity software (word processing, database, spreadsheet, and other office productivity software) and specialized software utilized and maintained by the district. Essential Skills Necessary To Perform The Work: * Assisting, instructing and/or providing support to personnel in technology hardware and software, first level technology issues, problems or their uses. * Replacing, upgrading, or maintaining computer hardware and software. * Providing support to students in the use and application of technology to assist them in their activities. * Installing and setting up new computer systems, software and equipment. * Repairing, troubleshooting, replacing, distributing and/or collecting Chromebooks. * Supervising and proctoring state testing in computer labs. * Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with building staff. * Ability to communicate effectively with users at all levels regarding technology. * Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Work Environment: Duties are generally performed in a typical school setting where there are minimal environmental hazards and risks. Employee(s) may be exposed to disagreeable conditions involving human/student/parental contact. Physical Job Requirements: Employee is continuously required to talk, and hear, use hands to finger, handle and/or feel; frequently sits and walks, stoops, kneels, and/or crouches; intermittently stands, climbs, or reach with hands and arms. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
