This position will build meaningful relationships with students and staff and help lead the efforts to build a student-centered, culturally relevant, positive school culture. The incumbent will refine and nurture a student&#8217;s daily experience that meets the unique needs and opportunities for our students by promoting positive student relationships and educating students in positive decision-making. Responsibilities include working with staff on curriculum development and delivery of instruction, directing student activities and working with staff on behavior management and providing a continuum of strategies and supports for students including potential consequences. Position Requirements: Bachelor&#8217;s degree, a valid Minnesota teaching license-12; minimum of five years teaching experience (secondary preferred); a valid MN administrative license or working towards a MN administrative license. Language Skills: Ability to communicate to a culturally diverse cross section of individuals and organizations. Physical Demands: This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently requires sitting, using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light noise). Remain calm in stressful situations, provide a variety of strategies in working with students, and maintain flexibility in day-to-day dealing with staff. Other Skills & Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of the policies, practices, methods and techniques used in the administration and supervision of a school; thorough knowledge of prescribed school board policies and procedures; thorough skill in oral and written communication; thorough skill in the use of personal computers and related software packages, hardware and peripheral equipment; thorough skills in outstanding leadership and personal characteristics; ability to motivate others to reach their fullest potential; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, the School Board, parents/guardians, elected officials, students, staff, superintendent and the general public; must demonstrate accomplished leadership skills, excellent organizational skills, highly developed communications skills, and in-depth knowledge of instruction and educational issues.
