Schedule: Monday through Friday 7a-3p for Student Contact days Direct Student Service Responsibilities * Provides individualized or small group counseling services or interventions focused on social skills, anger management, bullying, organizational/self-advocacy skills, peer-social relationships, and grief/loss, as requested by administration or Individual Education Plan (IEP) team. * Provides consultation services to classroom teachers; supports classroom teachers in understanding and implementing classroom intervention strategies. * Consults with general education and special education personnel regarding programming for students with disabilities; ensures compliance with state and federal guidelines. * Leads initial qualification evaluation meetings. * Attends IEP meetings when requested. * Consults with families, teachers, and other school personnel to determine root causes of behaviors and help develop solutions. Observes student behavior. * Works collaboratively to update and/or create IEP social and emotional goals and objectives, as well as positive behavior interventions and/or behavior plans. * Completes progress notes as required for IEPs. * Deescalates and processes behaviors with students. * Assists with crisis intervention and mental health screening. * Participates on the Student Assistance Team (SAT)/Child Study Team (CST). Evaluation Responsibilities * Participates in pre-referral activities, gathers and interprets data, and develops pre-referral interventions. * Participates in planning and conducting special education evaluations to determine if students are eligible for special education services. * Ensures students receiving services are eligible under state guidelines. * Directs student evaluations, interprets findings, and writes reports. * Assists with evaluation observations. School Community Responsibilities * Provides training and assistance with initiatives. * Provides instruction in the areas of social skills and behavior. * Creates and maintains applicable record;, files; and reports pertaining to training, services provided, and assessments. Education and Experience * Four-year degree. * Master&#8217;s Degree in Psychology. * MN School Psychologist License. * Experience working in a school-related field, preferred. Position Summary
