Assists in following the program schedule and activity plans. Assists in managing classroom behavior and providing after-school tutoring. Assists in helping to develop and provide physical activity, cultural enrichment, intellect, social skills and supporting health and wellness of children. The Program Aide is responsible for assisting and supporting activities and duties assigned by the Program Site Supervisor, Assistant Site Supervisor and Program Coordinator. Job Responsibilities: * Assist the Program Lead and Site Supervisor in monitoring all aspects of the child care sites. * Support and guide children in group situations and games, indoor and outdoor activities. * Maintain supervision and safety standards of the child care programs. * Support daily schedules and activities. * Offer input and suggestions when applicable to the Program Lead and Site Supervisor that will help with planning activities. * Administer basic first aid when needed and submit accident/incident reports in a timely manner. * Ensue safety of the group at all times through active supervision and maintenance of group ratios. * Serve as a mandated reporter of child abuse and neglect following county and state guidlines and training. * Communicate effectively with LILA staff, families, children, co-workers, site supervisor, coordinator, and the child care director. * Lead classroom in the absence of the Program Lead. * Acts in a professional manner at all times. Expected to represent themselves as a representative of Explorer Club/Little Explorers and Lakes International Language Academy. * Accept responsibility to work beyond regularly scheduled hours in case of a late start or an early dismissal of school. * Demonstrate exemplary attendance on scheduled work days, including snow days and other non-school days. * Accept responsibility to work beyond job description as situations arise. * Assist with set-up and breakdown of site programs. * Attend other duties assigned by the Site Supervisor and Coordinator. Required Qualifications: * Must be 16 years of age. * English Fluency Required Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with young children. * Spanish/Chinese proficiency. * CPR/First Aid Certified (training can be provided). Physical Requirements: This position requires vocal communication, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, use of hands to grasp and feel, and vision abilities including close, distance, and adjusting focus. Lifting/moving required frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds or more. Work occasionally requires exposure to bloodborne pathogens and is generally in a moderately noisy location. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Job Description: Program Aide 

POSITION TITLE:  Explorer Club and Little Explorers Program Aide

Term:  9 Month Employee 

Accountable to:  Site Supervisor
