Experience: Three years of High School coaching experience at the JV or Varsity Level Requirement: MSHSL head coaching certificate Skills: Ability to foster a positive culture, teach a strong work ethic, strong fundamental skills in the teaching of best practices of the sport of basketball, strong communication, and organizational skills Simley High School is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as the Head Boys Basketball Coach. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport of basketball, strong communication skills, and excellent organizational abilities, along with a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment for our student-athletes. Required Qualifications: * Minimum of three years of coaching experience at the JV or Varsity level in a high school setting * Possession of a valid MSHSL head coaching certificate * Demonstrated ability to foster a positive team culture and instill a strong work ethic in players * Strong fundamental skills in teaching the best practices of the sport of basketball * Excellent communication and organizational skills * Commitment to the academic success and personal development of student-athletes Job Responsibilities: * Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship * Plan and conduct effective practices that focus on fundamental skills and game strategies * Provide clear and consistent communication to student-athletes, parents, and stakeholders regarding schedules, expectations, and program updates * Organize team schedule, including practices, games, and team events, in a timely and efficient manner * Collaborate with school staff, parents, and community members to promote the basketball program and engage stakeholders * Ensure compliance with all MSHSL and school district rules and regulations * Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes and uphold the values and expectations of Simley High School Pay and Benefits: $6,154 Stipend.
