SouthWest Metro serves students in 11 member districts and 8 associate member districts across the southwestern Twin Cities metropolitan area with programs in Special Education, Career and Technical Education, Care & Treatment, Adult Education, and Alternative Education. Description: Efficiently and effectively assist in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning program in a special education setting while working under the supervision of a supervising teacher. Performs support work assisting students in meeting educational, communication, emotional, physical and behavioral goals of students with special needs. Paraprofessionals may be working with students on an individual basis or in small groups. Locations & Programs Dates/Times: * River Valley Education Center - Jordan, MN * Dates: * July 8th - August 1st * Monday - Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm * St. Boni Education Center - St. Bonifacius, MN * Dates: * July 8th - August 1st * Monday - Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm * Dean Lakes Education Center - Shakopee, MN * Dates: * July 8th - August 1st * Monday - Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm * 401 Building - Chaska, MN * Dates: * July 8th - August 1st * Monday - Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm, 8:00am-3:00pm * Waseca Central - Waseca, MN * Dates: * June 10th - July 3rd * Monday - Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm Qualifications: &#8226; Two years of study at an institution of higher education (60 college credits) OR an Associate degree (or higher) OR the successful completion of the Paraeducator training and assessments (District funded). &#8226; Experience in working with students with significant disabilities is preferred, but not required. &#8226; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) is required. The training is offered by the school district. &#8226; Must pass a background check. &#8226; Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality and using good discretion.
