POSITION: Assistant Director of Technology and Assessment – (FTE 1.0, 206 duty days)
LOCATION: MN VIRTUAL SCHOOLS
Salary Range: $75,000-$80,000 - Depending on qualifications
Reports to: School Director
General Duties of the Position
Assist the Director and leadership team in the development of systems and protocols for managing the technology initiatives and schoolwide assessment plan for the school
Develop and implement training and professional development for school faculty on technology tools and assessment requirements
Assess progress of implementation efforts and assist with resource mapping for systemic change
Attend ongoing technology implementation professional development and coordinator meetings
Collect, analyze and summarize student and school data from multiple sources to inform decisions, and interact effectively with data systems (Fastbridge, Skyward)
Seek knowledge of best practices and current research in schoolwide assessments
Assist with the selection and maintenance of various technology and curriculum tools
Responsibilities
Leading weekly technology team meetings, as well as participate in weekly Student Success Team meetings and monthly Leadership Team meetings where you will report on assessment data
Support the implementation of data-driven professional development.
Observe and use data to support teachers with curriculum implementation.
Lead MTSS-specific professional development.
Plan and work with school leadership to create professional development and training in response to specific data and trends; around key initiatives, including but not limited to restorative practices; developing positive relationships; and effectively executing academic support plans.
Regularly and effectively communicate with families.
Communicate regularly with families utilizing school-adopted communication systems and platforms.
Proactively and positively engage with families on a regular basis, seeking first to celebrate student progress, and next to problem-solve around challenging situations.
Participate in family conferences, demonstrating strong preparation.
Consistently demonstrate the school’s core values and standards for professionalism.
Develop and sustain relationships with colleagues and school staff that are positive, collaborative, and generous.
Put in the amount of time and effort needed to contribute toward individual and school goals.
Assume additional responsibilities when necessary and/or when asked.
Participate in school events and activities.
Arrive on time for the workday, scheduled meetings etc.
Develop and maintain highly effective systems to ensure deadlines are met even in the face of unexpected events or schedule changes.
Maintain an attitude that is positive and respectful of all students, families, colleagues, leaders, and school partners.
Demonstrate positivity during meetings / professional development and participate actively, contributing in a way that advances the conversation to a new level and pushes the thinking of others
Preferred qualifications (but not required):
Knowledge and experience managing educational platforms, including Moodle, Canvas, and Schoology
Knowledge and experience managing SIS database systems, including Skyward
Knowledge and experience working with programming languages such as PERL
Experience managing a team
Hours :M-F, regular school hours
