Compensation: Hourly Wage: $31.85 per hour (BA, Step B) (Full Day Training will be at the rate of $130 for the full day) Required Position Dates: * Mandatory All Staff Training: Monday, June 17 (9:00 am - 3:00 pm) * All Summer Academy staff are required to attend the full day training. * Important: If you are unable to attend the training, you must note this in your application. * SA Program Dates: Summer Academy will be held Monday - Thursdays (2 days in-person and 2 days virtual each week) for 15 school days: * June 24-27 * July 1-3 (3 day week, 2 days in person and 1 virtual) * July 8-11 * July 15-18 * Classroom Preparation: Teachers will receive keys to their classroom at the training on Monday, June 17. Hours: 8:00 am - 1:30 pm (Students Hours are 8:30 am - 12:30 pm with school doors opening at 8:00 am) * Teachers are required to be on-site from 8:00 am -12:30 pm each school day. * Training: All Summer Academy teaching staff are required to attend a full day training on Monday, June 17th from 9:00-3:00 pm and will be paid at the daily rate of $130.00. * Teachers will be paid one additional hour of prep daily. Prep can take place on or off campus. * Final Day - July 18th: The final day of Summer Academy (July 18th) all staff must be on site for program closing and clean up. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor&#8217;s Degree in educational field. * Licensed by the State of Minnesota to teach Secondary grades 6-12. Job Duties: Summer Academy Program Responsibilities: * Attend and actively participate in the all staff training on Monday, June 19th. * Greet all students in a welcoming, inclusive manner by being visible in the hallway outside of the classroom each morning. * Supervision: Teachers will actively supervise the halls before school, during passing time, and after school. * Summer Academy is focused on credit recovery and student growth and will include some mini lessons for students focused on academic skill development.. * What I Need (Win): During WIN time at Summer Academy, teachers will work with individual students to help support their individual needs on coursework. This may also be contacting home if students are struggling to complete work. * Progress Reporting: Classroom teachers will monitor student progress each week and connect with home when students are not making progress and invite them to WIN time. * Subject/Content: Teachers will be responsible for teaching small group lessons based on student need as well as mini lessons on academic skills. Curriculum and Instruction: * Demonstrate solid content knowledge and pedagogical practices that reflect current research and best practices. * Teach district approved content expectations. * Create curriculum and instructional goals that are connected to standards, are measurable, establish high expectations, and are relevant to students. Adapts curriculum to reflect multicultural content and perspectives * Deliver differentiated instruction that supports student differences, learning needs, and exceptionalities. * Implement learning activities that are highly relevant, student active, and maintain organization while allowing for student choice. * Provide student assessments that are congruent with learning goals and are used to help students&#8217; progress toward mastery of standards. * Create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes caring and respect, is conducive to effective learning and meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. * Establish clear standards and classroom procedures for student behavior that address individual needs in a respectful and preventative manner. * Address the needs of 21st century learners through the integration of technology into classroom instruction and student learning activities. * Monitor and assess student progress through both formative and summative assessments and adjust student instruction accordingly. * Provide feedback to students that is specific, timely, and provided in a manner that promotes students&#8217; learning. * Display accurate knowledge of the diverse cultures of students and consistently demonstrate understanding of cultural influences on student&#8217;s behavior and success. * Demonstrate awareness of the impact of culture and race on the achievement gaps and regularly uses formative and summative data to make instructional decisions including the use of differentiated instructional strategies that are culturally responsive and meet students&#8217; learning needs. Professional Responsibilities: * Establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with students, peers, and parents. * Collaborate with others to improve professional practice and student achievement. * Display positive leadership and contribute to the success of Targeted Services summer programming. * Apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programs. * Care for district resources, equipment, and materials assigned to him/her and report concerns regarding facility and equipment to the designated supervisor. * Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all procedures and practices prescribed in the Teacher, Student, and/or Parent Handbooks. * Understand and practice School Board policies and adhere to federal and state laws that apply to his/her job assignment. * Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor or district administrator. Position Summary:
