Description: Harbor City International School, a public charter high school, is looking for candidates to fill the full-time position of School Office Coordinator. This position is intended to support staff and student success at HCIS through friendly, organized, efficient, and detail-oriented work to support school systems and foster open communication throughout the community. 7:45am - 3:45pm (approximate hours) The Office Coordinator will do the following: First Point of Contact and communication: Manage secured entry system Greet and welcome students, staff, and guests. Remain positive, calm, and professional in all situations Answer phones and document all communications Initiate calls to families for attendance, behavior, or other communication needs Deliver messages and support school communications such as announcements, emails, postings. Guide students and guests to proper people and places for emergent needs throughout the day. Respond, inform, and connect staff, students, and families based on emergent situations Attendance and reports: Manage excused/unexcused absences and tardies Update Powerschool attendance records Maintain student reports and tracking for eligibility for clubs, accumulating absences, behavior reports, and as directed Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information Medical Support (required training available onsite): Crisis trained: First Aid, AED, Epinephrine and Naloxone administration, Crisis Response Team member Medication distribution as permitted by school nurse including records maintenance Communicate with Special Education, School Nurse, Dean of Students, and Executive Director to ensure student supports are in place as pertain to office interactions Substitute Teacher Support: Greet and facilitate access to rooms and resources for substitute teachers Work with school staff to coordinate internal coverage in the school as needed Assist the Director and Dean of Students as needed: Assist in lunch recording and supervision Provide clerical support as needed Complete tasks as assigned to meet the needs of the school Qualifications: Qualifications Required: High school graduate Administrative assistance experience Preferred: AA, BS or BA in communications, information technology or related fields. Professional Qualities: Consistent, positive, fair and forthright in interpersonal communications with people of diverse backgrounds and teens specifically Even tempered when faced with situations that are frustrating, ambiguous, and high pressured Collaborative with strong problem solving skills Able to use and learn technical programs and data entry procedures: phone systems, Google Suite programs, Student Data Systems (Powerschool) Organized, efficient and effective working habits Excellent verbal and written communication skills Engages in personal and professional growth Prompt, reliable attendance About the School: Harbor City International School is a college preparatory, public high school. Qualifications:
