Blake seeks to hire a skilled and dynamic Middle School (grades 6-8) math teacher to join our outstanding faculty for the 2024-25 school year. This is a 1.0 FTE ongoing position. The ideal candidate is capable of teaching a variety of courses (sixth grade math, pre-algebra, algebra and geometry) and is passionate about problem-based learning, learner-centered pedagogy and alternative assessments. Zeal for working with early adolescent learners is a must. Blake is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of identity and lived experience that makes a community strong and empowers students to engage across differences. Blake provides substantial resources for professional learning in areas including adolescent development, learning differences and intercultural competence. We welcome candidates who have non-traditional experience as educators and who are eager to grow and translate their capacities as designers of learning experiences into the traditional classroom.
