Position Purpose: The purpose of the Registration and Graduation Assistant is to oversee college-wide processes that ensure the ease of the registration and graduation process from application to degree conferral. The position has a primary responsibility for managing the graduation processes and procedures. The position assists the Registrar in all facets of the college&#8217;s Registrar&#8217;s office, including graduation and ensuring the integrity of the College&#8217;s academic and student records management system. Minimum Qualifications Skill in customer service sufficient to provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondence. Skill in customer service sufficient to perform the duties with politeness, respect, and interest in positive problem solving. Knowledge of math sufficient to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Knowledge of math sufficient to use fractions, decimals and calculate percentages. Skill in customer service sufficient to convey complicated information in an understandable manner as an expert resource for customers, co-workers, and outside agencies and individuals. Skill in database management sufficient to set up and run basic queries, review, and analyze data, and identify problem areas in areas which may include data, formulas, or security. Knowledge of standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases sufficient to create, modify, and protect files. Preferred Qualifications Associate&#8217;s degree or higher, and two years of Records & Registration experience in MinnState Experience in student services or academic affairs. Ability to interpret and understand complicated state and federal regulations. Professional experience in the application and integration of educational policies, procedures, and practices; customer/student service standards; continuous quality improvement methods; and Microsoft Office software. Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations. Specific professional and administrative skills to include critical thinking, problem solving, process planning and management, writing and editing, team building, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with faculty, staff and students. Knowledge of academic policy and procedure, specifically as it relates to registration and degree completion.
