Join our team as a Program Staff Lead (Teacher), and play a vital role in creating a fun and enriching summer experience for children in PreK through Grade 5. As part of our team, you will plan and implement developmentally and age-appropriate activities, supervise children using effective classroom management techniques, create a warm and welcoming environment for students and families, maintain cleanliness and safety, and set clear rules and expectations within the classroom. Key Responsibilities: * Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement engaging summer activities for school-age children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. * Supervise children in PreK through Grade 5, utilizing appropriate student and classroom management techniques to ensure a safe and positive learning environment. * Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for students and families, building positive relationships and a sense of community. * Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the classroom, including sanitization and organization of materials and equipment. * Set clear rules and expectations for behavior within the classroom, promoting a respectful and inclusive learning environment. * Effectively communicate with colleagues, teaching assistants, and high school staff, collaborating to meet the needs of students and support their learning and development. Qualifications: * Fun, nurturing, and caring demeanor, with a genuine passion for working with children. * Highly organized and flexible, able to adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities. * Experience in child care is appreciated, showcasing your understanding of the needs and interests of school-age children. * Two years of college experience in a related field, such as education or child development, is preferred, demonstrating your academic background and commitment to the field. * First-aid and CPR certification is preferred, highlighting your commitment to the safety and well-being of children. * Work experience with school-age children (ages 5-12) is desirable, demonstrating practical skills and knowledge. * Experience preparing and serving snacks is advantageous, contributing to the nutritional needs of students. * Knowledge of the developmental needs of school-age children, facilitating effective engagement and support. * Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and work collaboratively within a team environment. * Ability to self-direct and provide direction to teaching assistants and high school staff within the classroom, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
