We are located between the cities of Kasson and Mantorville. Kasson is the home of a vibrant downtown district and Mantorville is known for its historic presence in SE Minnesota. The communities are fifteen minutes from downtown Rochester, home of the Mayo Clinic and IBM and approximately one hour south of the Twin Cities. Kasson-Mantorville is a growing school district of 2,100 students, with numerous co-curricular and extracurricular programs and club opportunities. Title: English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher Grade Levels: Kindergarten (K) to 12th Grade (12) QUALIFICATIONS: Valid MN ELL License or the ability to obtain an ELL license (out of field permission or by meeting PELSB requirements for tiered license) **POSITION OVERVIEW:** An English Language Learner (ELL) teacher working with students in grades K-12 is responsible for supporting non-native English speakers in developing their English language proficiency and ensuring their academic success. ELL teachers work collaboratively with classroom teachers, administrators, and parents to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for ELL students. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Assessment and Placement:** - Administer language proficiency assessments to determine students' English language proficiency levels. - Collaborate with school personnel to determine appropriate ELL program placement for students. 2. **Instructional Planning and Delivery:** - Develop and implement effective instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of ELL students. - Create differentiated lesson plans that align with state standards and the language proficiency levels of ELL students. - Integrate language acquisition skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) into the curriculum. - Adapt materials and resources to make them accessible for ELL students. 3. **Individualized Support:** - Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to ELL students who require additional support. - Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. 4. **Collaboration:** - Work closely with classroom teachers to coordinate and align instruction. - Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities related to ELL instruction. - Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to update them on students' progress and provide strategies for supporting English language development at home. 6. **Assessment and Progress Monitoring:** - Administer periodic assessments to track students' language proficiency growth. - Use assessment data to make data-driven instructional decisions. - Report on ELL student progress to school administrators, teachers, and parents.
