Shift Details: Full-time &#8211; 40 hours/week Compensation: negotiable based on experience Location: 2300 Kennedy St NE, Suite 140, Minneapolis, MN 55413 About the job: Oversee the administrative operations of VOA High School including setting the culture and strategic direction to ensure quality service and curriculum delivery. Provide leadership on outreach with external stakeholders including, collaborating with external partners and participating in advocacy work in coalition with other stakeholders. Supervise and provide direction to program leaders to ensure strong outcomes and achieving financial sustainability. Leadership to identify and oversee implementation of new initiatives and pursue opportunities to increase funding. Essentials: Leadership and Culture Building * Serve as a leader who promotes the success of all students by facilitating the development and implementation of a culture of learning consistent with Volunteers of America -MN/WI&#8217;s mission, vision, and values. * Provide strategic direction to VOA High School to achieve goals of quality programming consistent with the strategic plan of Volunteers of America -MN/WI. * Prepare short and long-term goals, with plans to ensure impactful outcomes in alignment with strategic priorities and achieving financial sustainability. * Stay up to date with industry knowledge and trends and demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit in exploring new program models, external partnerships, or evolving best practices that are financially sustainable, and meet community needs. * Supervise, provide direction, and coaching to program leaders. * Evaluate programs and redesign program strategy as appropriate to consistently improve program outcomes and respond to community needs. * Oversee student enrollment projections and trends in order to adapt programming and resources accordingly. * Oversee implementation of new operational initiatives based on senior leadership direction. * Maintain and adapt policies and procedures for program operations that uphold high service standards. * Oversee development of effective and efficient program operational processes. * Coordinate professional development of staff in alignment with strategic priorities. * Assess and guide workplace culture for VOA High School. * Facilitate team meetings to foster teamwork and collaboration. * Assist the team in talent acquisition, including recruiting, interviewing, and retention. * Ensure programming and administrative practices are in compliance with all licensing and regulatory agencies including Special Education, Title I, and other Minneapolis Public School programs. * Provide on-site presence at VOA High School and work year-round. Instructional Leadership * Evaluate and implement academic programming and curriculum design for students earning credits. * Promote a positive and culturally responsive learning environment that maximizes student learning. * Work with school Director to ensure teachers are using consistent instructional practices, monitoring student progress, and providing instruction based on student needs. * Work with school Director to determine annual academic goals and identify areas for instructional improvement. Finance and Fundraising Development * Strengthen student enrollment through overseeing outreach, marketing, and branding efforts in the community. * Increase scope of funding through grants and other fundraising efforts in partnership with our internal Mission Advancement team. * Assist the Senior Director of Education in seeking and managing program contracts, grants, and other funding resources. * Manage school property which includes, but is not limited to, interacting with property manager and addressing building maintenance and improvement needs. * Annually develop and recommend a balanced school budget. * Oversee and monitor monthly financial reports. * Provide timely financial reports to finance. Public Relations and Outreach * Ensure that regular communication occurs to provide staff, students, and families with information regarding school related goals, instruction, and operations. * Seek opportunities to network and collaborate with other community providers, referral sources, policy makers, and administrators by actively representing VOA High School. * Provide leadership by representing VOA High School in advocacy work with external stakeholders (MPS, MFAS, Legislature). * Keep informed of current and proposed legislation affecting the school. * Mobilize the participation of appropriate stakeholders to accomplish desired results/ goals. * Prepare or delegate the preparation of reports, data, and all other required information to the district, state, federal, and other organizations or funders. * Monitor contracts with funders and contracted service providers. * Demonstrate project management for outreach, research, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
