Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing early childhood screening of children ages 3, 4 and 5 at the St. Anthony Community Center up to two days a month. This position is also responsible for providing early childhood screening at Wilshire Park for children, who started kindergarten and have not had a screening, by October 1 each year. Training will be provided on the components of an early childhood screening including: developmental assessments, hearing and vision screening, immunization review, height and weight, identification of risk factors that may influence learning, meeting with the parent, referral for assessment and entering completed screening into the student information system.
Qualifications:
An early childhood screening must be conducted by either an individual who is licensed as, or has training that is similar to a special education teacher, school psychologist, kindergarten teacher, prekindergarten teacher, school nurse, public health nurse, registered nurse, or physician.
Responsibilities:
1. Attend trainings as needed
2. Assemble packet of information for parent to complete prior to screening
3. Conduct all components of early childhood screening with child
4. Facilitate meeting with parent to discuss results of early childhood screening.
5. Submitting a referral or scheduling a rescreen when appropriate
6. Entering completed screening information into the student information system and requesting a MARSS number.
7. Complete Early Childhood Screening Annual Report by June 15.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Hours: 8-16 hours a month, 12 months a year
Employment Dates: Position to be filled ASAP
Salary: $25.76-$28.15 per hour.
