The Food Service Coordinator is also responsible for assisting with the purchasing the food items and supplies, administering the budget, and administering the free and reduced meal program. The position also assists in assuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations in the operation of the district Child Nutrition Program and other duties as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Assists with all supervision of all food service personnel directly or through designated building Lead Cooks. * Assist the Food Service Directo with overseeing and directing all aspects of the food service operations dealing with meal production and catering. * Oversees account management, cashiering, and clerk essential duties and responsibilities. * Assist the Food Service Director in planning functions of food service. * Assists with all aspects of the Free and Reduced Meal Program including the processing of applications, certifications, verification reporting, and all parent and student related correspondence. Maintains all student free/reduced/full pay status along with all reporting requirements. * Attends and participates in various regional and/or state meetings and committees, as appropriate. Additional Duties: * Performs other duties of comparable level or type, as required. Essential Skills Necessary to Perform the Work: * Reading, writing, and speaking English proficiently. * Effective and proactive communication and organization skills. * Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with supervisiors, co-workers, other district staff, students, and members of the public. * Able to effectively utilize technology to streamline work processes and data. * Operation of industrial kitchen equipment. Physical Job Requirements: Employee is continuously required to talk, and hear; frequently sits, tastes and smells; intermittently walks; uses hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoops, kneels, and/or crouches in the performance of the job. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Minimum Qualifications: Requires a minimum of Associate's Degree in Nutrition Management, School Nutrition, Dietetics or closely aligned area and 2 years previous experience in food production and operations; and/or equivalent education and experience necessary to perform the requirements of the work. Completion of Level 2 School Nutrition Association Certification within 1 year of hire. ServSafe Certification and Certified Food Protection Manager License through the State of MN within 60 days of hire. Valid driver's license. Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 per year Contract Days: 210 Number of days for the reminder of the 2023-2024 school year is to be determined.
