Position: High School Art Teacher .5 FTE - 1.0 FTE Available Summary: Face to Face Academy is accepting applications for a Licensed High School Art Teacher. Job Description: Instruction: Develops lesson plans and implements all aspects of Art Instruction. Art courses may include Visual Arts &#8211; Drawing/Painting, Ceramics, Printmaking, Art Appreciation, and Mixed Media. Leads the day-to-day instructional program by helping individual students with their assignments and learning programs. Assists in the development, coordination, and implementation of interdisciplinary experiential learning opportunities for at-risk students. Curriculum: Develops and implements all aspects of the art curriculum. Aligns the curriculum with state and national standards. Works with other teachers and providers to integrate art cross-curricular. Programing: Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, assists with day-to-day student issues and supervision, attends staff meetings, assists with the planning and conducting of special events and field trips, collaborates with other staff and maintains teamwork-style environment, and assists supervisory staff with tasks or projects, as requested. Preferred Qualifications A current license covering Visual Arts grades 9-12 issued by the Minnesota Department of Education. Successful teaching experience or equivalent experience working with underserved adolescents from diverse backgrounds. Candidates without licensure but with relevant coursework and willingness to pursue full licensure will also be considered.
