About STMA Schools We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750 employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district is comprised of one primary school for preschool and kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12. Position Overview & Responsibilities Responsible for developing, coordinating, and overseeing work experience and work-based learning placements for students with disabilities. Functions as a member of the special education team in providing comprehensive secondary transition services to students with IEPs. Also responsible for evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional objectives and following state mandated due process procedures and functions. Start date: August 26, 2024 (new-to-district teachers have orientation on August 20th and 21st, 2024) FTE: 1.0 Contract: 186 days (+2 days for new-to-distrct teachers) Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor&#8217;s degree in education and required teaching licensure in Special Education and Work-Based Learning Coordinator, as required by the State of Minnesota. Specific content knowledge, training, or job experience required before appointment. Dual licensure in special education disability areas preferred but not required. Assignments Special education teachers work by district assignment and may be moved between buildings and/or programs based on student needs, location of certain programs, student count(s), and applicable licensure.
