Position: Music Teacher, 2024-2025 school year, 1.0 FTE School Overview Athlos Academy of St. Cloud is a public, tuition-free K-8 charter school. Our school offers a unique approach that empowers students to live fulfilling, responsible, and successful lives by building on our three foundational pillars: Prepared Mind, Healthy Body, and Performance Character. Athlos students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as a broad knowledge base and healthy lifestyle habits. Our school culture celebrates high academic achievement, fosters individual growth in fitness and Performance Character, and promotes regular family engagement. Responsibilities and Duties &#183; Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-based, student-centered instruction that engages all students and provides academic growth (following the mission, beliefs and strategies of Athlos Academies 3 pillars of performance). &#183; Ensure student growth and achievement in accordance with grade level expectations. &#183; Differentiate instruction as needed to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students. &#183; Model the Athlos culture by exemplifying the 3 Pillars: Prepared Mind, Healthy Body, and Performance Character (demonstrating 12 character traits, exemplifying a growth mindset and modeling a healthy lifestyle). &#183; Introduce students to a variety of music and its cultural importance. &#183; Familiarize students with the basic concepts of music such as notes, tempo, symphony, beats, compositions, chords, scales, rhythm, etc. &#183; Conduct school wide choir and band concerts. &#183; Instruct students on how to coordinate songs with other musical instruments. &#183; Conduct band lessons before or after school as scheduled. &#183; Teach students to read musical notes accurately. &#183; Acquaint students with different music genres such as jazz, classical, techno, pop, folk, etc. &#183; Foster a liking towards music and inculcate a passion for acquiring the expertise in playing an instrument. &#183; Have a good knowledge of all different types of music instruments, both theoretically and practically. &#183; Accurately track student attendance, student progress, behavioral concerns, and classroom events. &#183; Regularly and professionally communicate with parents/guardians and the community. &#183; Participate in regular professional development, the school's professional learning community and staff meetings to improve instruction. &#183; Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and other staff members to maximize effective instructional activities and build positive school culture. &#183; Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and all professional responsibilities. &#183; Demonstrate the standards for effective practices of teachers. &#183; Any other assigned duties as assigned. Qualifications and Skills

     Education: Bachelor’s degree

     Experience: Classroom experience preferred
