Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Public School is seeking a full-time Elementary WIN (What I Need) Interventionist to work with small groups of students throughout the elementary school, focusing on reading and math skills during WIN Time. Our district encompasses the communities of Grey Eagle, Burtrum, and Long Prairie. As an Elementary WIN Interventionist, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the academic success of students in reading and/or mathematics. Our school utilizes positive behavior supports to create a positive experience for both students and staff. We prioritize professional development, which is driven by a committee of teachers. This approach allows opportunities for our own staff to present and share their knowledge with their colleagues. Additionally, we offer music, visual art, and physical education to all elementary students, emphasizing a holistic approach to education. Our family liaison is instrumental in supporting our Hispanic families, providing bilingual assistance as needed. Our quality English Language Learner (ELL) program consistently surpasses the state average in meeting the goals of our English language learners. Position Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Elementary WIN Interventionist aims to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills. This role involves implementing the district-approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, addressing specific educational needs, and creating a flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment. Essential Functions: 1. Develops and administers the elementary school curriculum in alignment with district goals and objectives. 2. Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, fostering student learning. 3. Creates lesson plans and instructional materials, translating them into engaging learning experiences to optimize available instructional time. 4. Conducts ongoing assessments of student learning, adapting instructional methods to individual student needs, including those with special requirements. 5. Instructs students in responsible citizenship and other subject matters, following applicable laws, administrative regulations, and school procedures. 6. Continuously acquires professional knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings and conducts research to stay updated on current developments in education. 7. Organizes and maintains an accurate system for record-keeping, grading, and reporting, following district procedures and applicable laws. 8. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents. 9. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. 10. Coordinates with other elementary professional staff members, evaluates curriculum, and actively participates in faculty meetings and committees. 11. Selects and requisitions appropriate books, instructional aids, and supplies, maintaining inventory records. 12. Supervises students in activities outside the classroom during the school day, including those involving school transportation. 13. Administers standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs. Additional Duties: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators, as designated by the Superintendent. Travel Requirements: Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge of current teaching methods, educational pedagogy, and differentiated instruction based on student learning styles. * Familiarity with elementary school curriculum and concepts. * Understanding of data information systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans. * Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. * Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed. * Strong organizational and coordination skills. * Effective communication skills with students and parents. * Commitment to self-evaluation for performance and professional growth. * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
