Stewartville Public Schools is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator. We are located in Stewartville, MN, fifteen minutes from downtown Rochester and approximately an hour southeast of the Twin Cities. Stewartville is a growing school district of 2,000 students and approximately 300 staff.
Position: Human Resources Coordinator
Hours or FTE: Full-time Salaried Position Starting Date: As Soon As Possible
Job Description: The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for administering the human resource programs and services of the District including recruiting and orientation, enforcing personnel, policies/procedures, employee relations, and worker’s compensation. This individual is responsible for the development and processing of confidential data and personnel management with minimal direction and supervision in an effective, efficient, confidential, and trustworthy manner. The Human Resource Coordinator supports employees with access to the appropriate resources as needed, update records, investigate complaints, update staff handbooks, and schedule and attend meetings to ensure that policies are being implemented consistently and fairly. Depending on the current hiring cycle, sit in on interview panels or conduct exit interviews for employees leaving the district.
Qualifications/Degree:
1. Two year degree/certificate in human resources/administrative assistant or equivalent experience.
2. Previous experience in school district operations preferred.
3. Knowledge and experience with online systems including SMART HR, Skyward, Frontline Management (Digital Personnel Records, Absence Management, Recruiting and Hiring), Vector Solutions, and Google Suite.
4. Demonstrate experience and knowledge of practices in employee recruitment and retention.
5. Must possess an understanding of MN statutes and Department of Labor laws and regulations.
6. Must possess organizational skills.
7. Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated.
