The Nurtured Heart Lead will teach, model, and provide ongoing coaching to classroom staff and program-based Nurtured Heart coaches as they work to create consistent, safe environments that are predictable, trauma-responsive, and conducive to learning. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide expertise and technical support for Nurtured Heart coaches and guide NHA implementation districtwide. * Create and deliver training on Nurtured Heart and refine existing resources and guides. * Develop agendas and lead monthly Nurtured Heart coaches&#8217; meetings. * Provide mentoring for new Nurture Heart coaches on a weekly basis. * Engage in regular fidelity checks of classrooms and programs implementing Nurtured Heart * Engage in planning and resource allocation for continued growth of the Nurtured Heart Approach * Create and deliver trainings for students related to Nurtured Heart * Work collaboratively with staff members to consider the educational programming needs for each student; Communicate effectively to meet the needs of students and maintain a positive environment for all. * Uphold and enforce board policy, district goals, administrative procedures, school rules and regulations; Adhere to health and safety policies. * Maintains appropriate work habits, including regular and punctual attendance and appropriate use of conference and planning time. * Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences as well as staff, department, curricular development and committee meetings and staff-development session, as required. * Respect the confidentiality of records and information regarding students, parents, and teachers in accordance with accepted professional ethics and state and federal laws. * Keep current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory and share this knowledge for continual improvement of the school's curriculum. * Uses flexible thinking and adaptability to address classroom and building needs related to Nurtured Heart * Other duties, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: * This position requires a valid PELSB teaching license in Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD). * Advanced training through The Nurtured Heart Institute and solid knowledge of the core elements of the Nurtured Heart Approach * At least five years of experience leading a Nurtured Heart classroom, and experience coaching others in NHA implementation * Willingness and ability to work with teams delivering high-level special education services to implement NHA. * Thorough knowledge of education principles, practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; with knowledge of special education practices preferred. * Ability to understand developmental appropriateness of materials and behavior. * Willingness to complete training in Professional Crisis Management and implement restrictive procedures, if needed. * Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication that is maintained during high-stress and crisis situations. * Basic computer and email skills. POSITION OVERVIEW:
