Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting the district's Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model designed for students facing academic and behavioral challenges. The role involves coordinating MTSS procedures, facilitating communication with site teams, collaborating closely with district and school leadership to provide staff training, offering valuable MTSS resources, overseeing school processes, and analyzing data to enhance student achievement. Additionally, the position provides comprehensive training, consultation, and support to effectively implement MTSS strategies at both district and school levels, including observation, feedback, modeling, and data interpretation. This is a 12 month position supporting students district wide.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Coordination of implementation and oversight of the MTSS framework across all grade levels from PreK to 12, in collaboration with administrators, teachers, and support staff
* Data analysis to identify students who may need additional support and to inform instructional decisions
* Fostering collaboration and a team-based culture among teachers, special education staff, counselors, deans, and other professionals to ensure a unified approach to supporting students
* Providing or fostering strategic and applicable professional development for teachers and staff to enhance their understanding of MTSS principles and effective instruction strategies
* Collaborating with teachers to design and implement targeted interventions for students needing different tiers of support and monitoring progress
* Fostering parent and community engagement
* Coordinating progress monitoring and using progress monitoring data to inform adjustments to interventions
* Helping develop crisis intervention plans for students who may need immediate and intensive support, and always being mindful of student safety
* Maintaining records and providing reports for stakeholders about progress and the overall effectiveness of the MTSS framework
* Working together with others to foster continuous improvement of the MTSS and student growth and achievement
Required Qualifications:
* BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience
* Knowledge of a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) model, implementation of MTSS, and intervention strategies
* Experience in designing and delivering professional development
* Ability to plan, organize, and work collaboratively with other teams
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive relationships
* Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
* Proficiency in intervention management software and Microsoft Office programs, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
Preferences:
* Knowledge of best practices related to immersion.
* Knowledge of and experience with International Baccalaureate Programmes.
* Knowledge of and experience with Responsive Classroom approaches.
Physical Requirements:
This role may occasionally involve exertion of up to 15 pounds of force. It requires regular speaking or hearing, frequent sitting, and occasional standing, walking, using hands for various tasks, and making repetitive motions. Standard vision requirements are necessary, along with vocal communication to express ideas clearly and convey detailed instructions accurately. Hearing is essential to perceive information at normal levels and receive detailed instructions through oral communications. Tasks may include preparing and analyzing data, operating machines, and observing surroundings. The work environment is generally quiet, such as a library, private office, or conference room, with no exposure to extreme environmental conditions.
