Elementary Principal - McGregor Schools Job Summary: Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Elementary Principal is responsible for providing educational leadership within the Elementary School by implementing the educational and district initiatives at the building level and for directing, supervising, and overseeing all school operations, curriculum, personnel, safety, and functions. The Elementary School Principal collaborates and works closely with other administrators, staff, students, and the public in addressing and meeting the educational needs and goals of the District, its students, and its families, and in performing various public relations responsibilities within the community. McGregor Elementary serves Grades PK-6 with an enrollment of approximately 250 students. Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct Supervision: Licensed Classroom Teacher, Paraprofessionals, Building Administrative Support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Serves as the educational leader and administrator within the building. Directs and supervises building-level instructional staff, paraprofessionals, and administrative support personnel within the building. Administers and oversees all staffing issues, concerns, and personnel actions within the building. * Administers and monitors school programs and collaborates with others in improving curriculum in accordance with various local, state, and federal rules, standards, and guidelines and in implementing a balanced educational curriculum, instructional, and assessment program. * Oversees general building operations, schedules, safety protocols, student discipline, and activities within the building. * Prepares and administers the budget and fiscal operations of the elementary school. * Performs and conducts various public relations responsibilities and tasks. * Coordinates and oversees the preparation and distribution of building-level reports required by the District, State, and/or Federal agencies. * Performs other duties of a comparable level or type, as required. Minimum Qualifications: Requires a minimum of Master's Degree in Educational Administration, Educational Leadership, or a closely related field and a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience. Requires Teacher Licensure in the State of MN and K-12 Educational Administrative/Leadership licensure. Essential Knowledge and Specialized Subject Knowledge Required to Perform the Essential Functions of the Job: * Curriculum, instruction, and learning principles, concepts, theories, approaches, techniques, and trends as well as State, Federal, and local requirements and standards. * Management theory, principles, and techniques. * District administrative policies, procedures, and standards. * Budget and school financial operations, processes, and procedures. * Understanding of school laws, rules, and regulations, including special education and due process. * Human relation concepts, principles, and techniques. * Principles, techniques, and best practices as it pertains to staff evaluation, coaching, and staff development of certified and non-certified staff. * Fundamentals of curriculum development, research, assessment, and evaluation principles.
