POSITION TYPE 0.75 FTE High School Science Teacher for the 2024 summer DATES June 10th to July 26th *Position works remotely* SUMMARY A summer school teacher provides high quality online education to all students through a well developed and implemented curriculum. They work with students via the internet, telephone, and other means of electronic communication to ensure full educational needs are met. Looking for someone to teach Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics, and Biology at the high school level. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: &#8226; implement curriculum in accordance with state, national and local standards &#8226; Develop professional relationships with students and families to support student learning &#8226; Monitor student learning and progress and intervene as necessary in accordance with established teacher expectations &#8226; Maintain & document correspondence with students & families in compliance with school policy &#8226; Actively participate in assigned professional learning community &#8226; Evaluate student work and submit grades in a timely fashion &#8226; Manage classroom equipment, supplies and software &#8226; Ensure student safety &#8226; Provide individualized and small group instruction to students requiring assistance both synchronously and asynchronously &#8226; Attend IEP, section 504 and student support meetings as needed &#8226; Other duties as assigned EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This position allows for flexibility, however the employee must be available during the &#8220;core&#8221; work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m during the summer. Monday through Friday. REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE &#8226; Bachelor&#8217;s Degree (B.A.) from a 4-year college or university &#8226; Current MN Science Teaching License * Willingness to get an Out of Field Permission in different science content areas in which you are not licensed. EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This position allows for flexibility, however the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m during the summer. Monday through Friday.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

·        Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a 4-year college or university

·        Current MN Science Teaching License

  • Willingness to get an Out of Field Permission in different science content areas in which you are not licensed. 

PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

·       Current MN Earth Science (9-12), Chemistry (9-12), and Physics (9-12)

·        Experience working with Moodle and digital learning tools

·        Experience working with at-risk youth
