About STMA Schools We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district is comprised of one primary school for preschool and kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12. We also have an 18-22 year old transition program for students with disabilities. Position Overview & Responsibilities Responsible for developing and providing specialized, evidence-based instruction to meet the unique needs of secondary transition-aged students with disabilities. Also responsible for evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional objectives and following state mandated due process procedures and functions. This position is teamed with another special education teacher and supports our 18-22 year old program as well as 9th to 12th grade students with IEPs who attend our ALP (Knights Academy). Start date: August 26th, 2024 (new-to-district teacher orientation is August 20 and 21, 2024) FTE: 1.0 Contract: 186 days (+2 for new-to-district teachers) Requirements & Qualifications Bachelor&#8217;s degree in education and licensure in Special Education as required by the State of Minnesota. Specific content knowledge, training, or job experience in secondary transition required before appointment. Dual licensure preferred but not required.
