The community is located on Highway 55, approximately 50 miles west of Minneapolis and 25 miles southeast of St. Cloud. Annandale is a wonderful district with many great lakes and a small town feel that is second to none. Annandale Boys Basketball is a historic program with high participation, expectations, and community support. Our athletes have earned numerous section, conference, and state awards.
Boys Basketball has won numerous conference titles and earned multiple state tournament trips including a Class AA state title in 2022.

JOB SUMMARY:
The head coach is responsible for planning, directing, and leading an education-based athletic program that seeks to develop athletes with a holistic approach. Home of the Cards! Commitment Accountability Respect Discipline Service
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must meet the head coaching requirements of the MSHSL
2. Experience coaching in an education-based athletic program
3. Certified teacher preferred
4. Playing and/or coaching experience preferred
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Compensation and duration of the assignment as negotiated per the AEA Schedule C contract
Base - 4356
The experience factor shall be 5% of the extra curricular base for each year (Max of 12 years). Full experience shall include the total number of years, which the teacher has coached in that activity, or the like, in any position
Consideration will also be given for future staff positions.

JOB GOALS:
To accept the responsibility of the program and work with the students/athletes in the sport assigned to and provide life lessons that will positively impact the physical, social, and emotional well-being of all involved.
TRAITS OF AN EFFECTIVE COACH:
Demonstrates a high degree of empathy, positivity, trust, responsibility, discipline, and flexibility. Is a developer, teacher, achiever and problem solver.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Accept and follow all Annandale Schools Activities Department Policies.
2. Create a purpose statement and abide by it.
3. Follow the rules and regulations of the school, the Wright County Conference, and the MSHSL.
4. Complete the rules and continuing ed credits set in place by the MSHSL.
5. Maintain membership in the appropriate coaches’ association and participate so that our school has representation (i.e. all state, all academic awards)
6. Attend clinics, seminars, and in-service programs in order to improve coaching skills and to stay current with new trends in coaching, training, conditioning and safety procedures.
7. Attend school, conference and section coaches’ meetings
8. Give input about and then carry out the interscholastic schedule as drawn up by the AD.
9. Organize, schedule and supervise practices.
10. Verify transportation requests for scrimmages, practices and competitions.
11. Supervise the use of equipment in your sport.
12. Regularly inspect equipment and facilities to ensure the safety of each student-athlete.
13. Responsible for reporting scores and disseminating team information for publicity.
14. Participate in a pre-and post-season meeting with the AD. The post-season meeting will serve as an evaluation conference.
15. Delegate responsibility to the assistant coaches as appropriate
16. Organize and participate in an end of the season informative and evaluation sessions with all assistant coaches.
17. Work to develop continuity between the community and school programs.
18. Provide leadership in his or her program for all levels of the sport (7-12)
19. Maintain appropriate supervision of his/her program at all times (locker rooms, practice events, bus rides, etc.). Supervise any and all space used by athletes while they are present.
20. Encourage young men and women to participate in sports and other co-curricular activities other than his/her own.
21. Establish and use a system of communication to athletes and parents that will include an explanation of program policies, awards, procedures, goals and schedules.
22. Has responsibility for the end-of-season awards program.
23. Represent the school in a professional demeanor, language, and conduct (based on standards established by the AD).
24. All other duties as assigned by the AD.
