Positions: 1 teacher specialized in elementary school students, 1 teacher specialized in ELA for high school students or adults Date of Availability: ASAP Date Closing: Until Filled Location: Roseville MN Huntington Learning Center offers children ages 5 to17 tutoring in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Study Skills, Phonics, Vocabulary, Science, Test Prep, High School Entrance Exam preparation, and SAT/PSAT, and ACT preparation. In order to ensure that our students have a successful educational experience, our tutors are required to go through some initial and ongoing training in Huntington teaching methods and our highly developed curriculum. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions to students in various subjects - Implement lesson plans provided by Huntington - Administer Academic Evaluation test, or practice tests to know aabout students' academic progress - Assist students with homework assignments and test preparation - Communicate with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student progress - Occasional teaching related administration tasks including grading tests, and generate student reports for the center director Qualifications/Desired Skill Sets: - Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices (for the elementary school student position) - Experience working with older students or adult education experience. ACT/SAT Test preparation experience is a plus. - Familiarity with different learning styles and strategies for engaging students - Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written * Job Type: Part-time * Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week, after school and/or weekends.
