GRADE LEVELS: 6TH & 7TH PRIMARY FOCUS: Students with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Other Health Disabilities (OHD) CASELOAD: Average of 16 students RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide specialized instruction tailored to meet the academic needs of students with SLD and OHD. * Support students in achieving their post-secondary transition goals related to training, employment, and independent living. * Utilize innovative teaching methods to engage students and promote academic success. * Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). * Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth and independence. * Facilitate skill development in areas such as communication, organization, and self-advocacy. * Utilize resources such as the Life Skills room with a full apartment simulation and access to a shared PAES lab to enhance learning opportunities. QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred). * Valid state teaching license/certification in Special Education. * Experience working with students with SLD and OHD preferred. * Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions. * Strong communication and collaboration skills. * Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. * Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
