Saint Paul Public Schools is unable to offer Psychology Internships at this time. The Human Resource Department will review your qualifications and may contact you for an interview. Applicants who are interviewed and recommended as a teacher candidate may be considered for vacancies throughout the district as they occur. Minimum Qualifications: A Master's degree in School Psychology and: * A School Psychology license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education. * Experience providing service to persons of diverse cultures, races and socioeconomic backgrounds. * Ability to work efficiently, effectively and cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working in a school setting or with children ages birth through 21. * Experience identifying students with disabilities. * Experience administering intellectual, social/emotional, adaptive behavior and other normed referenced instruments. Responsibilities: The essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following fundamental duties: * Provide consultation to staff and parents for improving students' academic and behavioral success through pre-referral interventions, observations and classroom strategies. * Develop and implement strategies for improving academics and students' behavior including collecting, analyzing and interpreting data in the classroom and other school settings, using systems such as RTI and PBIS. * Participate in and conduct trainings for district staff on aspects of problem-solving including data collection and analysis, cultural competence in assessment and positive behavioral supports. * Assist school staff in the identification of students with disabilities ages birth through 21, including ELL students, through participation in pre-referral activities, child study committees and consultation activities, and in planning appropriate assessment and reassessment procedures for students. * Administer intellectual, social/emotional, adaptive behavior and other normed referenced instruments including scoring and interpretation providing both written and oral reports to parents, students and professionals. * Administer and interpret informal assessments including parent, teacher and student interviews, observations in the classroom and other settings to aid in supporting results from formal assessment. * Assist school staff with due process procedures including eligibility requirements, parent rights and record keeping. * Assist in school district projects or special activities that require consultation and/or direct services of a school psychologist. * Perform other related duties as assigned.
