Job Title: Preschool Teacher (.5 FTE) Reports to: Building Principal FLSA Status: Hourly Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:35-11:35 Union: Teacher Position Available: 2024-2025 School Year NATURE OF WORK &#8226; Designs and implements hands-on, instructional lessons to 3-5 year old students &#8226; Collaborates with grade level teachers to plan, integrate, and enhance grade-level standards in the classroom. &#8226; Provides standards-based, structured project based learning that interconnects the standards and curricular tools REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE &#8226; Four-year degree from a college or university &#8226; Valid MN teaching credentials IDEAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE &#8226; At least 2 years teaching experience ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES &#8226; Creating and Maintaining Effective Environments for Student Learning o Maintains meaningful positive rapport with students and parents o Manages a physical space that includes effective classroom management o Encourages student behavior that promotes character development &#8226; Planning Instruction and Designing Learning Experiences for All Students o Develops rigorous lesson plans that are driven by student assessment o Designs assessments that allow students to respond in a variety of ways to curriculum that's taught o Implements interdisciplinary units o Ensures that students display knowledge of grade-level content standards o Uses technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration &#8226; Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning o Consistently implements agreed-upon programs o Implements IEPs and 504 plans o Develops, implements, and assesses student learning with regards to their learning targets o Designs and implements activities that encourage higher-level thinking o Differentiates lessons to meet students' needs o Maintains regular communication with staff members & parents &#8226; Respond to communication within 1 work day &#8226; Collaborate with faculty on lesson plans and objectives &#8226; Keep individual contact with parents &#8226; Generate newsletters and update website regularly &#8226; Communicates with students in an effective and appropriate manner &#8226; Builds positive relationships with parents &#8226; Handles confidential information in a responsible and professional manner CONTINUOUS INQUIRY AND IMPROVEMENT &#8226; Uses formative assessment to analyze progress toward student goals &#8226; Seeks feedback about one's teaching practice and use as formative assessment when designing instruction &#8226; Takes risks and seize leadership opportunities &#8226; Seeks information about recent research and current best practices &#8226; Collects and analyzes data to evaluate and improve teaching practice &#8226; Pursues professional development that supports improved classroom practice and/or contributions to the field &#8226; Incorporates newly acquired knowledge and skills into work &#8226; Collaborates with colleagues to increase student learning &#8226; Sets challenging goals that support improved student learning and reflect on progress towards your goals &#8226; Strives to improve the school as a whole &#8226; Uses pre-assessments to plan differentiated instruction &#8226; Self-assesses one's teaching practice To apply, please send completed application (found on school website), letter of interest, current resume, transcripts and 3 letters of recommendation to: Cedar Mountain Elementary School Attn: Julia Garms, Dean of Students PO Box 38 Franklin, MN 55333 Or by email to jgarms@cedarmt.org<mailto:jgarms@cedarmt.org> Cedar Mountain ISD #2754 PO Box 188 Morgan, MN 56266
