De Smet School is seeking a highly motivated K-12 Vocal Music Educator who has a passion for students and a desire to build a creative Music program. De Smet School will be opening a new PreK-5 facility in the Fall of 2024. The new building is attached to the existing High School/Middle School facility. De Smet Schools have a K-12 enrollment of approximately 375 students. We continue to grow as the facility has attracted several families to our community. De Smet has a rich tradition in academic, athletic, and fine arts success with huge community support. De Smet was the childhood home of Laura Ingalls Wilder, and her legacy continues to attract tourist in the summertime from all over the world. Qualifications: Vocal Music license issued by the State of South or a licensed teacher with an interest in music education that is willing to become licensed in South Dakota. Starting Salary: $47,900 (pending negotiations for 2024) plus a stipend for music events outside of the school day. Coaching is also available but not required.
