Our team currently consists of six school counselors and three school psychologists who serve our population of just under 1800 students on our three-building campus setting. Applicants with a passion for working with students and families to problem solve and remove barriers to learning in order to reach their full potential are encouraged to apply. The highly qualified School Social Worker will be energetic, creative and innovative. Successful candidates will possess: &#183; Master&#8217;s Degree in School Social Work &#183; Must be able to qualify for a Wisconsin DPI license (#7050 School Social Worker) &#183; Experience in AODA intervention/prevention preferred &#183; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision &#183; Ability to make reasonable independent judgements and decisions &#183; Detail oriented and able to organize and prioritize tasks. &#183; Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times. &#183; Adhere to professional standards of respectful, confidential, individualized, developmentally appropriate, and culturally competent practice Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Home-School Collaboration: &#183; Engaging families through communication and home visits &#183; Family assistance in finding and utilizing community resources &#183; Coordination of services for homeless families &#183; Collaboration with staff and administrators Individual and Small Group Student Services: &#183; Facilitation of educational support groups &#183; Individual counseling and problem solving &#183; Advocacy for student access to school and community-based services &#183; Collaboration with teams in the development of positive behavior intervention plans &#183; Crisis management and support Collaboration and Partnerships with Community-Based Organizations: &#183; Coordination of student transition to/from community agencies/placements &#183; Coordination of community resources with school services &#183; Referrals to community resources Multi-Level Systems of Support: &#183; Advocate for social and economic justice in order to reduce barriers and promote learning &#183; Address cultural responsiveness and trauma-sensitive practices in order to reduce impact and promote resilience &#183; Act within and between multiple systems levels to provide a continuum of supports to students and systems with a focus on prevention and wellness promotion &#183; Assist in district wide behavioral / mental health screening Assessment &#183; Participate in building consultation teams, 504 meetings, and IEP meetings &#183; Complete social-developmental histories &#183; Complete threat assessments / suicide screenings &#183; Complete functional behavioral assessments Leadership &#183; Collaborate with school and district leadership teams (Mental Health Guiding Coalition, Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports) &#183; Serve as a member of the Student Services team, leading initiatives in truancy and AODA prevention &#183; Communicate proactively and effectively with teachers and administrators to align practices with the District&#8217;s vision, mission, graduate profile and strategic plan &#183; Possess and utilize knowledge of state and federal laws and local school district policy related to school social work practice in order to enhance service delivery and ensure informed practice Placement on the progressive salary schedule based upon qualifications and experience.
