[image.png] Lower School Teacher We are seeking a passionate, experienced and team-oriented teacher to join us in our mission to build confidence, success, and purpose through transformative learning experiences. The Lower School Teacher plans, organizes, and implements appropriate instructional programs in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. RESPONSIBILITIES * Deliver researched-based, individualized teaching for each student focused on outcomes. * Utilize Orton-Gillingham and Wilson Language Programs. * Plan and prepare learning activities for a balanced program of instruction and demonstration. * Provide an environment and culture in the classroom that engages students and helps them learn more effectively. * Implement key components of a Groves Academy education, such as strong relationship development with students, knowledge of the student learning profiles, evidence-based feedback, and differentiation. * Designing and adapting instruction to meet a range of student learning needs and interests, encouraging students' creative expression, interests, and passions while developing critical thinking skills. * Communicating with parents on a regular basis by email or phone, conferences, and progress report writing. * Participate in continuing professional development opportunities. * Upholding the Characteristics of Teacher Excellence at Groves Academy. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALS * BA/BS degree in education is required * Training in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Language Programs preferred * Experience teaching in the area of LD/ADHD highly preferred * An intuitive teaching ability and the adaptability to serve students with diverse needs * Training and Licensure in Special Education is desirable Groves Learning Organization (GLO) is working to change the way learning and literacy is taught so students of all ages can reach their full potential - academically, socially, and emotionally. Lower School Teacher
